Murphy has also stated: "I've been reading a lot of the theories and there's another great clue in tonight's episode. But I don't think anyone has completely gotten it because it's not just one thing. My favorite one was that the third season of American Horror Story is the last season of Dexter, which I thought was brilliant...There's another clue tonight and there's a really big clue next week...I'm not saying [if the clues are visual or in dialogue]. But last week the clue was very brief and this week is very brief. But yeah they're in there." Again, I think it's the jukebox songs. Tonight's was "Love Potion No. 9", another hint at spells and voodoo.

Busy with work and then sick, so fell behind with watching. Just got through Name Game and I was hoping, hoping, hoping for convo about the clues!
When he said a real place of horror in the country, do you think he meant his/our country (US)--that is, a location where real, horror crime happened--or in *the* country, that is, bucolic setting? It seems you guys read it as the latter, while my first thought, when reading the interview was the former.
What if it's going back in time to Salem MA and witches? Too lame?

Too lame? My apologies. I totally misread what Murphy said (blame: sleep deprivation). "True horror" did in fact happen in Salem. Some onliners have suggested Salem (spells, etc.) and others don't think he'll set it in the same state as Season 2 (although location doesn't seem to matter in the show, except for the great accents). I wouldn't mind a witchy show (Alex Breckinridge (S1's young Moira) would make a great one!) as long as they don't feed into it. The success of the past two seasons have come from the "human" horror, rather than relying on total supernatural stuff. And perhaps they will have enough money from the two seasons to maybe go OUTSIDE more??? And get well soon, laneric!

I'm willing to bet it going to be southern Gothic if you go by the songs. I'm thinking the Delphine LaLaurie house is a good bet, with side stories involving voodoo/hoodoo.
It would also up the production into historical horror pre 19OO's.
Also Louisiana is a hot spot for productions right now, because they want too encourage industry in the area because of Katrina.
