I am actually stunned by the gritty horrible scenes used for Briarcliff before it was shut down. I know real footage of these hell-holes was taken for documentaries in the 60's (?) I don't know how to find out if this was real footage or recreated from actual footge.
What happened to Kit's wife whom he married in the 70's? He was only 40-ish when he "died." His kids "wanted to care for him." They would have had to be still in school. I saw a nurse around. But no mention of his wife. Loose end. I never expected them to go the documentary route, but like Lana says TV sells more than words. And from what I can glean from Murphy, that was all scripted footage. This show has some great archivers and it showed in the docu scenes.
I also wondered about the new Mrs. Walker, but I like to think she was out roaming those woods and missed the show. And I could've sworn Thomas at the wedding was lil' Johnny!

The AOD isn't really explained and the last scene with Jude and Lana was fucked up. What did she mean by that? We'll never know. Can we dissect it back to being Jude was the devil in the beginning or some shit? WTH?
I liked the religious aspect without throwing too much Jesus in there.. I don't even think they mentioned Jesus once in the whole season.. had some crucifixes up and shit, but that's about it. I'll be looking forward to season 3, I want a lot of bloody stuff though, maybe that turns viewers off.. but instead of saying what happened in an emotional scene, show what happened... Some people thought by that last flashback that the whole season was just a "what if..." scenario. Some also think that Jude was possessed in that close-up. I think it's self-explanatory and directed to us all: Be careful what you wish for and pursue.
I think the anti-religious stuff was intended to support religion: what happens to those who believe in something rather than simply not believing? This season was more of a morality play than the first. The first was about what happens to your family when infidelity creeps in. This season was about what happens when neither you, nor anyone else, believes in yourself and you look for answers elsewhere. There were plenty of religious mentions. Dr. Arden/Jude in the church comes to mind and Jude later telling the monsignor that her God will not let him succeed. It's all in what you choose to hear. By the way, I'm spiritual, but not religious.
And yes, I too miss the Black Dahlia lying guts-out on the table in Season 1. Also, Tate didn't just TELL Vio that she was dead. They showed it. S1's finale was still groan-worthy, but there was more to see than listening in on S2's.
I have a fear that Season 3 will be ''Twilight''-ish, only with witches. Or "American Horror Story: Verona" See ya in Season 4.

heheh, who the hell knows eh? They had the time to show us more stuff, like Timothy actually killing himself, Johnny slicing the donut guy's throat etc.. I agree with the be careful what you wish for thing, that could be what that last scene was about.. Jude knew Lana banana could get in there and fuck things up for her and Lana knew that Jude was going to be an obstacle to overcome for her story. I liked how she killed her son knowing full well that she should have in the first place. Tons of irony as well in this season.. all over the place.. you had a nazi doctor cook himself in a cremation oven, an axe murderer get killed with an axe, tyrannical asylum director driven crazy, suicidal cardinal (not so much ironic, but I think somewhere he mentioned suicide was an unforgivable sin.. might have that confused with another show..) Kit's fate wasn't really ironic, Lana killing father and son, sort of. Pepper's death went unexplained, they could have thrown a death scene in.. All in all I enjoyed it, there were a couple of times after certain episodes I thought they were gonna lose me, but always redeemed themselves.. Seems it all could have been done in half the episodes though, some shit drug on too long with boring results.. If yer gonna strng me along a story line, make the climax spectacular, you know..

The Finale of this season was like they were saying: OK, lets wrap this thing up as quickly as possible and get it over with. Kill off the stupid raspers, since we still haven't figured out their purpose and we don't know what the hell to do with them now. Show how Lana got drawn in by evil, and then let her go back and do an expose ' on Briarcliff to redeem herself. Show how she screwed up her son by giving him away and then glorified his sicko father with that graphic novel which in turn created another Bloody face. Oh, and lets show Johnny ripping off that arm again in the asylum for no apparent reason. Why not have Lana kill him off so we don't have to worry about him anymore? Also,Kill off Alma so Kit can bring Sr. Jude to his home and rescue her...then lets kill Jude off. Say that Pepper is dead, but don't say how...it would take too long. Get rid of the cardinal...just have him kill himself, that's the easiest way.You know, we haven't shown a wedding this in this series yet... we should have a hippy wedding scene between Kit and Lorie 55, complete with peasant dress and flowers in the hair, and then ignore it .(Honestly, it reminded me of my 1970's wedding!) Show Kit going back to live with the Aliens, but lets not show the Aliens or explain about what they were trying to do... too complicated . Oh, and lets have that Angel of Death finally take Sr. Jude...shes been waiting with her lips all puckered up since episode one and it's about time!

I forgot about that wedding...the purpose seemed just to show a period wedding( like my 70's wedding) and maybe to show Kit was happy now and found love again. I can't even remember if he remarried before or after Sr. Jude passed away. What happened to the wife is anyone's guess... living off the land like a rasper? divorced? Dead?
