nightflier:
I'm with you...if it took place in the 50's that would make him about 90-100 years old today (assuming he is alive). It would have been more prudent to use a younger actor for that scene, it it really took place that long ago.
Since I do believe he is alive, I'm thinking it happened closer to the 80's. Hopefully they will tell us at some point.
UPDATE TO TIMELINE:
We now know that Tate killed the students and died in 1994...not 1995.

I'm more then willing to bet that Larry killed his family in the early 70's. Because when you see the twins in the house it has burn damage in spots, and the upstairs windows are boarded off, the rooms Larry set on fire. And if you assume Larry was in his thirties during his time in the house, it would roughly make Larry in his 70's now. Which is pretty reasonable for how he looks in the show now.
Also, the gas can he uses is most likely from the 30's. But given that the basement was probably full of stuff when he moved in, since the heads are still there when the twins come. I wouldn't be surprised if the house provided it.

That is good thinking! It makes complete sense and would fit the state of the house when the twins entered.
What I'm wondering now is when Constance moved in and moved out. She was definitely there in 1994 when Tate died, and was possibly living there in 1983 when Moira died. That takes an entire decade out of the timeline.
We still don't know for sure about 1983 though...at least I'm not sure. Tate said Constance had an affair with the neighbor, so I had deduced that she had killed her lover and did NOT live in the house at that time. Also to back that up would be that Tate said his dad left when he was 10 (around 87), so even if 'Hugo' (the dead guy with Moira) was her husband...the timeline doesn't fit there (that would make Tate about 22 when he died)

I am one who has never believed the man Constance shot in 1983 was married to her nor was her children's father. I didn't want to believe she lived in that house at any time. It's possible she set up shop after the killing in 1983, in order to cover her crimes, and therefore Tate became tainted by the house. She could possibly be a transplant like Nora and Vivien and forced to live there by one of the men in her life.

I never believed it was her husband either, to be honest. I wonder if we will ever find out.
Anyway, wow Spam! You're awesome, thanks so much for taking the time to put that together! That's really nice of you!
